This was great. I loved the simple steps – it’s so easy to get overwhelmed and anxious. It’s also hard to wait for the changes to be visible. Great point at the end about friendship changes – I think we all could do better at helping our kids and ourselves see friendship change as a normal thing

Really liked the discussion at the end from Lauren about the friendship changes. We are having friend pressure with my youngest at school. Her best fit friend is two grades ahead of her and at parent/teacher meetings earlier this year, the teacher was trying to say “oh well we have to work on her friendships with people in her class”, and it just did not sit with me. So I told my daughter after that she did not have to be friends with certain people or certain ages, just to play with who made her happy. Wish we could go to Lauren’s school!

Thank you for the worksheets. No surprises in the results or the steps but good to get confirmation my thinking was on the right path. And a push that I do really need to get onto doing the ALSUP forms and then schedule an appointment for an assessment. Also some validation that we have been trying the right sort of things (so many on the list) and get some ideas for a third step. But the ALSUP and an assessment are clearly what we need as we keep hitting up against brick walls at the moment with all other things we try.
