I really enjoyed the talk and would like to be a part of a homeschool group within this community! Thank you!

There were a couple of things that triggered my mind as I was listening to this talk. Connect to local Facebook groups that do local homeschool swaps, conferences and even some 2e events. The library sometimes has curriculum that you can borrow – giving you a preview to see if it’s a good fit. For example our local library has the whole series of “Life of Fred” a story based math curriculum. We used it to stimulate math learning from all sorts of “angles” and when we found something interesting we would dig deeper on a topic. But all 2e kids are different and as was said from year to year sometimes within a year – one thing might work and then not work. Having space to talk about what is happening now, how others have worked through [been their own self scientist] having support is HUGE. This group is so beneficial for that… I would love to hear more interviews of mom’s or break-out sessions where idea sharing happened. And supporting each other “live” – virtual walks for those who may not have someone who completely gets 2e kids, homeschooling or even being a 2e adult. 🙂

We have been homeschooling, for now, four years. The information about transcripts for college is eye-opening for me. Our son is only in 5th grade but I will be logging this in my mind when we reach this area.

I am going to home school my daughter at the end of the school year. I would love a group within a group for home school. I am very nervous about home schooling, but I know it is best for my daughter and she is very excited.

Thank you Debbie and Michelle – this was awesome! Sounds very familiar, we also planned to homeschooled from day one, but with our son’s diagnosis we allowed professional pressure to make belief the best way for him is a special needs school – lesson learnt and since we only listen to our guts 😉

I agree home education is not for everybody, just as mainstream schooling is not for everybody. It is what is best for the child and the family dynamics that come with the child.

Thank you so much! That was so encouraging! I just pulled my 2e daughter from middle school in December and we are still in the process of detoxing and trying to get healthy. I appreciate the confirmation to put that first. I would love a bq homeschool group :-).
